Description
RFP #R10-9701 (including Exhibit A) Smithsonian Journeys, a division of Smithsonian Enterprises, offers escorted educational cultural travel experiences to members of the Smithsonian Institution, readers of Smithsonian Magazine and others. These tours provide expert study leaders and tour guides and a high quality standard of accommodations, air travel, and ground services (the "Tours"), and are offered under the brand name "Smithsonian Journeys" ( www.smithsonianjourneys.org ). Smithsonian Journeys is seeking a travel insurance provider(s) to arrange for, implement, and administer a customized, turn-key travel insurance plan for Tour members under a license to use the Smithsonian name and trademarks beginning in the Fall of 2010 for Tours commencing in calendar year 2011 (the "Optional Travel Insurance Program"). In addition, the Smithsonian seeks to purchase evacuation and repatriation insurance coverage and medical assistance abroad for Tour members at a competitive rate for Tours commencing in calendar year 2011 (the"Mandatory Travel Insurance Program"). If your company is interested in working with the Smithsonian on either or both of these programs, please review the attached RFP and submit a proposal in accordance with the RFP instructions and conditions. This is not a solicitation for a federal contract and is therefore not governed by federal procurement procedures. To be considered, you must submit one (1) original and five (5) copies of your proposal as detailed in the attached RFP via hand delivery or overnight courier to the address below by no later than 2:00 PM Eastern time, on March 29, 2010.
