Description
J&A for Sole Source Award The Heterogeneous Airborne Reconnaissance Team (HART) program will develop technologies enabling mission-driven command and control of a heterogeneous team on uninhabited platforms for the conduct of coordinated urban operations. This is a follow-on DARPA effort to research, develop and transition critical technologies that will enable the delivery of real-time, three-dimensional Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA) information directly to the end user through the management of manned vehicles and collaboratively controlled unmanned vehicle teams to acquire the information while providing the end user with a non-distracting interface through which RSTA service requests can be expressed without concern for explicitly tasking the individual vehicles or sensors. The vision is that the system will augment the collective autonomy of a team of unmanned platforms by planning their actions as a cooperative team then tasking each platform, through the HART Platform Wrappers, in its own native command representation. In this way, HART exploits the capabilities of each platform-specific ground station technology without modification of already certified airworthy platforms.
