Description
Background: The Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility (NCTRF) is conducting a market survey to identify manufacturers interested in producing and supplying the long and short sleeve shirts and/or overblouses to be worn as a component of the proposed U.S. Navy's Service Dress Khaki (SDK) Contemporary Uniform. Uniform Description: The men's tuck-in shirt and the women's overblouse shall be supplied in both long and short sleeve styles. See attachments for fabric and design details and drawings of each style shirt/overblouse. All shirts/overblouses will be constructed from a no iron 100% cotton pinpoint oxford, Khaki 3729. Special Order Program Requirements: The shirt/overblouse is a component of a proposed optional uniform, and will be sold through the Navy Exchange Service Command via the Special Order Program or possibly as a stocked item, if demand quantities are warranted. The supplier must be capable of delivering the uniform components in less than 16 weeks from time of order. The manufacturer must maintain a quality plan for manufacturing in accordance with ANSI and/or Military Standards. To participate as a supplier of these uniform items, the manufacturer will ultimately need to become a Certified Vendor in the US Navy's Uniform Certification Program, managed by NCTRF. Submission Requirements: Submissions to this request shall include:1. Documentation detailing past history of producing garments through a Special Order Program2. Description of your manufacturing capabilities 3. Sample of your existing Quality Assurance Plan 4. Evidence of meeting required delivery dates (past performance)5. Listing of sub-contractors (name, address, and capability) Submissions must be received no later than COB on 12 March 2010.
