- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Rigaku Americas Corporation, 9009 New Trails Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for the renewal of a (1) year service agreement on existing Rigaku Americas Corporation X-ray detector and generator system equipment. The equipment includes 007HF generator, the AFC11 goniometer, the Saturn92 CCD detector, the RaxisIVdetector, 2 X- stream cryo systems, 2 VariMax Mirro System and a Haskris water to water chiller. All components listed except the water to water chiller) were designed and build by Rigaku MSC, the only known source that can provide these services. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities /specifications to the Purchasing Agent at the address stated below. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 10 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Rigaku Americas Corporation. The NAICS Code/Size is 811219/6.0 M. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
