- Description
- The Department of Homeland Security/Customs and Border Protection (CBP) proposes to enter into a contract on the basis of other than full and open competition for all necessary labor and management to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Government owned and operated marine vessels. The contractor will provide marine mechanics in support of Customs and Border Protection marine repair facilities throughout the nation. This service is necessary to maintain the assigned vessels in an operationally ready condition to meet the mission requirements. CBP has utilized the services of Global Maritek Systems, Inc. (GMSI) as the primary contractor for vessel maintenance since 2004. Given the current support activities performed by GMSI and in order to ensure continuity of services, CBP intends to award a sole source bridge contract to continue these vital services. This bridge contract will allow CBP the additional time needed in order to complete the source selection process for the follow-on National Marine Maintenance Contract. The period of performance of this effort will be April 1, 2010 - September 30, 2010.
