- Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) has taken the lead in deploying both active and passive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology throughout the Marine Corps. Previous efforts have installed RFID infrastructure at many CONUS and OCONUS USMC installations. The current infrastructure is built upon a proprietary Savi American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard. The DoD has mandated that the services transition their infrastructure to an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard. In order to meet this mandate USMC restructuring to support a hybrid capability until all ANSI tags are moved from the inventory. This task order will serve to provide continued maintenance support and sustainment for the active RFID infrastructure while allowing USMC to pursue a multi year contract for system redesign and follow-on support and sustainment. The contractor shall meet this MARCORSYSCOM requirement by supporting and sustaining active RFID equipment at the USMC installations identified in the Statement of Work (SOW). In fulfillment of this tasking, MARCORSYSCOM expects the contractor to provide technical expertise and guidance to local USMC personnel responsible for operating and maintaining active RFID components, and to travel to each installation to install, configure, test, and maintain specified active RFID hardware and software components.
