Description
The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Alaska Volcano Observatory has a requirement for three (ea.) 48 TB RAID Array Data Storage Systems. These storage arrays shall contain 48 TByte storage on hot-swappable 3 Gbit/s hard disks, support Solaris operating system, 2 (14-wide) SAS uplink port supporting multi-pathing, and N+1 redundant hot-swappable power supplies. The minimum required specifications will be identified in the forth coming solicitation. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract using the procedures of FAR subpart 13.5, "Test Program for Certain Commercial Items," and FAR Part 12 entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." Delivery of the 48 TB RAID Array Data Storage Systems shall be 30 days after award of the contract. The formal solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about 12 March 2010. A formal solicitation is NOT available for release at this time. This requirement is set aside for small businesses. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334112 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. There is no incumbent contractor. Full funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award(s) may utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful offeror(s), will be required in any resultant contract.
