Description
THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0315 on or about March 12, 2010, for the RECOVERY Institute Creek Trail Boardwalk Deferred Maintenance project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after March 12, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. This project is comprised of work on the Institute Creek Trail. The project replaces damaged sections of puncheon with new puncheon. The Base Bid consists of reconstruction of puncheon step and run, puncheon with decking and removal of damaged puncheon. There are three Option Items that add additional lineal feet of reconstruction of puncheon step and run and removal of structures. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The Government’s estimate is between $100,000 and $250,000. PROJECT LOCATION. The project site is located on Wrangell Island, approximately 4 miles southeast of Wrangell, Alaska. The Institute Creek Trail is an estimated 2.9 miles long. It begins at 0.6 mile of the Rainbow Falls Trail and ends at the Shoemaker Bay Overlook Shelter. FOR MORE INFORMATION.
