- ******PLEASE CONTACT RICHARD GLOVER/CONTRACT SPECIALIST ONLY FOR ALL TECHNICALQUESTIONS. RICHARD GLOVER'S CONTACT INFORMATION IS IN THE BODY OF THIS ANNOUCEMENT.******NASA/MSFC has a requirement for one each, Part# 294-11 XBHC-Electric/Hydraulic RemoteControl Monitor System.NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from North American Fire Equipment Company(NAFECO) pursuant to FAR 13.106, for the acquisition of supplies or services determinedto be reasonably available from only one source. The remote control interface must becompatible with existing control system at Building 4561 control room.This will havethe same control system as TS500 and TS300 Firex System that is also located at Building4561. The common spare parts, installation, maintenance and operation as other FIREXsystems TS500, TS300, TS116 and SPTA are unique to North American Fire Equipment Company,Inc. Common control logic, installation, maintenance, and operational procedures willreduce safety hazards during emergency operation of fire control monitors.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 3:30 p.m. local timeon March 4, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications and/or Telephone Questions are not acceptable in response to thisnotice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
