- This notice is issued by NASA GSFC to solicit responses from industry regardingtwo potential future amplifier procurements. This Request for Information (RFI) is forinformational and planning purposes only and to allow industry the opportunity to verifytheir capabilities and the feasibility of the requirements, as well as promotecompetition. A formal Request for Proposal (RFP) may follow at the conclusion of thisRFI process. GSFC invites vendors to provide candid opinions on the proposedrequirements. The following documents are attached:1.) SMAP Radiometer Low Noise Amplifiers SOW; 2.) SMAP Radiometer Low Noise Amplifiers Compliance Matrix Checklist; and3.) SMAP Radiometer Low Noise Amplifiers SCDAdditionally NASA GSFC specifically requests the following information in industryresponses:1.Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) quote, with lead times, for parts described inattached SCD and SOW documents.2.Company information, previous space flight work, successful space flightheritage, and references from completed space flight projects.3.If applicable to this RFI, existing heritage parts information including currentspecs, needed modifications, and suitability.4.Completed compliance matrix as indicated in table below, including performancespecs and environmental requirements.5.Price and schedule driver details such as specifications, NRE, assembly,screening, qualification, long-lead parts, or site visits.6.Feedback on the feasibility of the performance specification7.Feedback on the feasibility of the proposed scheduleProspective offerors are invited to submit responses via e-mail to Kimber Russell nolater than March 26, 2010. If vendors require technical clarification or have questionsregarding the RFI, please contact Kimber Russell before the completion of the RFIprocess. This presolicitation synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by theGovernment, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response.Respondents will not be notified of the results. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note 'B'.The solicitation and anydocuments related to this procurement will be available on the NASA/GSFC BusinessOpportunities home page at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/nais/index.cgi. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of thesolicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible fordownloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments, if any.
