- THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0313 on or about March 11, 2010, for the RECOVERY Lake Eva Trail Reconstruction project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after March 11, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The work involves the reconstruction of Lake Eva Trail. Major work items include the installation of log bridges, boardwalk, rest areas, various types of aggregate surfacing, stone pitching, and stone steps. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The Government’s estimate is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. PROJECT LOCATION. The trailhead is located 27 northeast of Sitka and 20 miles southwest of Angoon on the northeast end of Baranof Island. The trail leads south from Peril Strait to Lake Eva. There are no utilities at the project site. The site is not accessible from any road system. Sitka is located on Baranof Island, and is accessible by scheduled airline service, boat, and barge. Sitka and Angoon are on the Alaska Marine Highway ferry system. PARTICIPATION. This project is a Total HUB-ZONE Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. All prospective bidders are invited to notify the contracting officer of their interest in the acquisition. FOR MORE INFORMATION.
