Description
NUWC Division Newport intends to award a Sole Source, fixed price order to Biosonics Inc for the following items: 1 each UWACS Echosounder Surface Unit, Two Scanning SONAR Head Configuration; 1 each UWACS Control Unit with Detect, Clutter Map, Auto Tracking, Slew-to-Cue and XML Output Capabilities, Two Scanning SONAR Head Configuration;2 each 300' DT-X Digital Signal Deck Cable - Integrated Orientation Sensor Ready; 2 each Tripod Mount and Hardware; 4 each transport cases (pelican case 1730 with fit-to System foam Inserts (black)) 2 each 120 kHz Split Beam Digital Transducer with Integrated Pan and Tilt System; 1 job Demonstration support Training (in Las Vegas, NV);1 lot shipping (if not included in price). The minimum requirements for the aforementioned items are: 1. Multiple Networked Transducer Capability Minimum 2 2. Split Beam Transducer Capability 3. Data Digitization within the transducers 4. Multiple frequency Transducers 5. Integrated Digital GPS Receivers 6. Self Diagnostics and Calibration on Startup 7. High Resolution, Full Color Echogram Display 8. System Noise Floor -140 dB 9. Dynamic Range > 160 dB 10. User Selectable : Ping rate 0 to 30 pps, Pulse Duration.1 to 1 ms, Range setting.5 to 500 m, Transmit Power 100 to 1000W 11. Target Tracking and Behavior Analysis Software 12. Data Storage Capability, 500 GIG dual RAID Additional evaluation Criteria: 1. Size and Weight: Since this will be a deployable system each transducer should be less the 20 lbs. 2. Diver Tracking Software: The purpose of this equipment is to detect and track divers underwater. The unit must include diver tracking algorithms that allow the user to track targets. 3. Three dimensional detection: The unit must be able to identify the diver in three dimensions including depth. BioSonics is the only source because the BioSonic unit includes a secondary deflection which provides enhanced data capabilities in the environment of rapidly moving water allowing it to detect targets. In order to operate in moving water, the transducers must have an internal orientation senor. The acoustic data and the orientation data must be digitized within the transducer and transmitted as binary data to the surface components. Also, the transducers must be split beam, meaning the targets in the transducer beam are resolved in three dimensions relative to the beam axis. Required delivery is 60 days after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. NAICS 334511. Approximate date of issuance of the Solicitation is 03/10/2010.
