Description
This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only. It does not constitute an IFB or RFP, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. No costs will be paid for any costs incurred or assumed in response to this pre-solicitation notice. This is a synopsis of a proposed contract action as required by FAR 5.2. Marine Corps Systems Command intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a research and development (R&D) contract for the enhancement of the currently fielded M1014 shotgun. The Government may make multiple awards as a result of source selection. The expected RFP release date will be on or about March or April of 2010. The contract type anticipated by the Government is cost reimbursement and will seek to determine a solution to the current M1014's inability to cycle less than lethal rounds without the aid of a charging handle. Offerors must have an acceptable cost accounting system as determined by the Defense Contract Management or Audit Agencies (DCMA/DCAA). Proof of this will be required at the time of proposal submission. The contract will be 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The anticipated period of performance is 365 days, with no option years. The proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 332994, with a small business standard size of 1,000 employees. Potential offerors should monitor FEDBIZOPPS for the official release of the RFP package.
