Description
The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) has a requirement to procure Professional Services for FAST Technical Support and for Parser Support Services for Digital Content. GPO's mission is to ensure the public's right to access government information by collecting, organizing, maintaining, preserving and disseminating information from all three branches of the Federal Government FDsys (Federal Digital system) will be a COTS-based enterprise content management system, with integration customizations to fully meet its requirements. The major COTS products that have been selected for FDsys include the FAST ESP (Enterprise Search Platform) which is the foundational piece of the search architecture. The purpose of this procurement is to acquire services from a qualified FAST SME to provide application support for the various builds, custom configuration (HW and SW) and to maintain the production release. Initially, direction will be provided by GPO's Program Management Office; however, at some point during the contract this responsibility will be transitioned to another unit within GPO's IT&S department. This work activity will include all instances of FDsys for the first public release and any subsequent releases regardless of instance (Development, Test and Production) and includes any demonstration sites that must be developed. The subject matter experts (SMEs) must have extensive hands-on experience in FAST ESP: production installation and configuration on Linux and Windows platforms, ESP administration including re-indexing for multi-node configuration, and troubleshooting skills. It is critical that the SMEs posses in depth understanding of FDsys content, FDsys architecture, search design and indexing strategy for FDsys, and the overall objectives of the program. GPO reserves the right to meet in person any SME candidate and to be involved in final selection of the SMEs assigned to the project by the contractor.
