- Description
- Furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary for the Smoke Detector Removal and Other Modifications at the VA NIHCS, 1700 E 38th Street, Marion, IN 46953. Work includes but is not limited to removal of the smoke detection system in several non-patient buildings as shown on contract drawings, installation of audible and strobe light devices in public bathrooms, and installing smoke detectors in open areas. The fire alarm system is a King Fisher system. All work shall be performed in accordance with NFPA and NEC Standards. Work will be performed in approximately 20 buildings. Removal of the smoke detection system includes the removal of sensors, conduit, raceways, control panels, etc. Installation of the new audible and strobe light devices and smoke detectors also includes installation of any additional AV devices necessary, devices, conduit, raceways, control panels, etc. Estimated construction cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. Applicable NAICS is 238210 and $14 million applies. This project is 100% set-aside for a service-disabled veteran owned small business. Completion time is 180 days after date of receipt of notice to proceed. Solicitation will be available on or about March 10, 2010. Bid opening is scheduled for April 9, 2010.
