- Description
- The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) intends to award a sole source contract to General Dynamics Ordinance and Tactical Systems - Canada (GD OTS Canada) 5 Montee des Arsenaux, Le Gardeur, QC, J5Z 2P4, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1; (10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1)), Only one responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for a quantity of 400 PGU-44/BE1, Insensitive Munitions (IM) cartridges for the AC 130 gunship is planned. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Responsible sources must be capable of filling projectiles with IM insensitive explosives, manufacturing 105mm brass cartridge cases with venting holes with the appropriate tempering to crimp onto a projectile, lining the internal walls of the projectile, and calculating ullage required to accommodate the expansion and retraction of the explosive during thermal cycles.
