- The resulting contract will utilize funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Interested parties are notified that the inclusion of unique provisions required in implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency, will be required of the successful quoter(s). Quotes are being solicited by the USDA, Forest Service for the Handpump Replacement and Well Abandonment project located on the Salmon-Challis National Forest, Custer and Lemhi Counties, Idaho. This project includes, but is not limited to, replacing handpumps in 6 locations on the Salmon Challis National Forest. Each handpump replacement will include removal of existing handpumps and demolition of existing concrete pads and gutters. Improvements include extending well casing to meet Idaho Regulations (18-inches above final grade), installing PVC well liner, installing new fiberglass pump rods, installing new handpumps, constructing concrete pads, constructing concrete gutters and sumps, and minor grading and aggregate placement to improve drainage around concrete pads. This project also includes abandonment of 12 wells and removal of all existing site improvements associated with the wells. This requirement is being solicited as a fixed price Request for Quote (RFQ) using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR part 13. Quotes are due at 3:00 p.m. MST, April 1, 2010. Work is estimated to begin May 1, 2010. The solicitation will be available on approximately March 11, 2010 and may be downloaded from this site at that time. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http:www.ccr.gov and shall complete the On-Line Registration and Certifications Application (ORCA) http://orca.bpn.gov. All responsible sources may submit a response to this announcement which will be considered by this agency.
