- Sole Source Justification The Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service's Mobile Women's Health Unit is seeking digital mammography interpretation services. This requirement is unique due to the method of image transmission. The unit uses broadband telecommunications to transmit mammography images to a remotely located reading center for interpretation. Prior mammograms are digitized on the unit & transmitted same day when possible. The reading center must send results to the unit the same day of services. If equipment failures occur reports shall be sent no later than Friday of each week. It is the intent of IHS-Aberdeen Area to contract with the University of Michigan on a Sole-Source basis in accordance with Part 6 of the FAR 6.302-1 to provide digital mammography interpretation services utilizing the existing General Electric Senographe 2000D Review Work Station equipment & existing Radiology Information System (RIS) software owned by the Government. The reading center lead Radiologist shall ensure compliance with FDA/ACR/MQSA requirements. The reading center information technology department shall ensure the connections are in place between the government furnished Review Work Station & the contractor's systems. There are no other sources that can accomplish this contract service for IHS.
