- RECOVERY - This project is now funded by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009. Only those that submitted a proposal before the original closing date of January 5, 2010 are able to bid on this procurement. GSA has a need for Boiler and Heating System Upgrades at the Flint Federal Building in Flint, Michigan. Work includes basement level mechanical room renovation of the existing heating hot water boiler system which serves the entire building. Demolition work includes demolition of the two existing gas fired boilers, circulation pumps and piping, associated breaching, associated combustion air duct work and fans. Work will include removal of all asbestos from all piping, ductwork, and boilers. Construction work includes installation of three (3) new boilers, circulation pumps and piping, and re-piping of the cold water make up, expansion tanks and air separator into the new hydronic piping system. This project shall also include electrical system improvements to the mechanical space including the re-lamp and re-ballast of existing fluorescent light fixtures and installing new light fixtures and emergency light fixtures. The performance period shall be 120 calendar days after issuance of Notice To Proceed. This project will be conducted using full and open competition. The NAICS code for this project will be 238220 and estimated construction magnitude is between $300,000 and $700,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about November 25, 2009, the date for Receipt of Proposals will be stated in the solicitation. The solicitation will be posted electronically at www.fbo.gov. Contractors will have electronic access to this solicitation at this website. Offerors will be responsible for downloading the solicitation and for monitoring FedBizOpps for amendments and/or additional information. In order to download the solicitation document, Contractor's shall be registered in the CCR Database and have a valid DUNS number. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. This is a negotiated procurement. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, and the amount of any offer or relative standing of any offer will not be disclosed. Proposals will be evaluated on past performance and price.
