Description
(Subject Continued) Air Volume Boxes and Associated Ductwork and Piping; Replace Outdoor Condensing Unit and Coil. Repipe Boiler Ft. Meade HV/AC Replacement Project. Project #5. Project is 100% 8(a) competitive set aside. Project is for the replacement of various HV/AC systems on Bldgs 393, 3100, & 4725. Projects are Design-Build. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the construction and repair of HV/AC Systems on Multiple Bldgs on Ft. Meade/ The proposed procurement is 100% 8(a) competitive Set-Aside with NAICS code 236220 with a size standard of $33.5M. The solicitation will be available on or about 20 January 2008 with proposal due on or about 19 February 2009. Estimated cost of the construction will be between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Construction duration is 720 days from receipt of notice to proceed. Solicitation Package #5 Building 393: This project will be design-build. Demolish existing direct expansion variable air volume air handling unit and its associated air-cooled condensing unit. Install a new chilled water or direct expansion variable air volume air handling unit. If chilled water is selected, install a new air cooled chiller package in the service yard with packaged pumps, tanks, automatic glycol feeding equipment, controls, and new chilled water piping to the air handling unit. Install new variable air volume terminal units and all associated ductwork, piping, controls and power to increase the amount of thermostatic zones within the building. Patch, repair, and replace building finishes as necessitated by the scope of this project. The existing boiler is to remain. Demolish existing HVAC controls on all building HVAC systems and install new Lon DDC controls. Coordinate with Trane to integrate the building Lon controls into the Trane Bacnet UMCS. Building 3100: This project will be design-build. Demolish the existing air cooled chiller and install a new packaged chiller with pumps, tanks, automatic glycol feeding equipment, controls, and new chilled water piping to the mechanical room. Demolish suspended ceiling throughout the building. Demolish existing four-pipe ceiling-hung blower coil units serving all occupied zones within the building, along with all of their associated ductwork, controls, power, and piping back to the mains. Demolish and replace insulation on all heating hot water piping in the building. The boiler is to remain. Demolish and replace the heating hot water circulation pump. Install a new chilled water variable air volume air handling unit to serve all occupied zones within the building. Install ductwork, new variable air volume terminal units to serve each thermostatic zone, and all associated piping, power, appurtenances, and controls. Install a new ductless mini-split system to serve the IT room. Install a new suspended ceiling throughout the building once the HVAC installation is concluded. Patch, repair, and replace building finishes as necessitated by the scope of this project. New controls installed under this contract will be Lon. Coordinate with Trane to integrate the building Lon controls into the Trane Bacnet UMCS. Building 4725: This project will be design-build. Demolish, salvage, and deliver to DPW the existing air cooled chiller and install a new packaged chiller with pumps, tanks, automatic glycol feeding equipment, controls, and new chilled water piping to the mechanical room. Demolish suspended ceiling throughout the building. Demolish existing four-pipe ceiling-hung blower coil units serving all occupied zones within the building, along with all of their associated ductwork, controls, power, and piping back to the mains. Demolish and replace insulation on all heating hot water piping in the building. The boiler is to remain. Demolish and replace the heating hot water circulation pump. The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format on or around the 20th of January 2010. After issuance of the solicitation, contractors may view and/or download the solicitation and all amendments. Plans and specifications will not be available in paper format.
