- Description
- Provide Architect/Engineering (A/E) services to include site investigations and development of contract drawings and specifications for installation of an MRI unit and construction of supporting functional areas. A/E firm shall coordinate with vendor to develop site specific installation documents and coordinate with VA Radiology and FMS departments to provide supporting functional areas within the available space. A/E services shall include construction period services and site visits. Construction will consist of renovating approximately 2,100 square feet of existing space located in rooms BB-113, BB-114 & BB-115 within the basement of Building #53. Renovation will require upgrades to electrical systems, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems as well as architectural changes to accommodate for the site preparation of the installation of an MRI machine. A/E shall develop all demolition, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical and fire protection drawings and specifications for these disciplines and provide a detailed construction cost estimate. A/E firm shall provide structural evaluation as necessary and include direction to protect existing finishes for transport of the MRI into the building. A/E firm shall design to comply with NFPA, NEC and Life Safety Codes, VA Design Criteria, manufacturer's equipment site prep drawings, construction standards and other required documents for the development of these documents.Construction Standards and other required documents can be obtained on the internet at: (http://www.cfm.va.gov/TIL/) for the development of these documents. A/E will utilize VA Master Construction Specifications for preparation of project specifications. Master Specifications can be obtained on the internet at: http://www.cfm.va.gov/TIL). The specifications shall be modified for project design. A/E shall provide D size drawings and completed drawings will also be furnished on electronic media (CD or DVD) in 2006 AutoCAD format. A/E will include an accurate detailed construction cost estimate to permit establishment of the final cost limits for this project. A/E will conduct construction period services during the construction phase of this project. This will include site visits on request, technical support required during the construction and the submittal review process. The firm shall field verify every aspect that relates to the project, coordinate visits with the Project Manager. A/E Engineering Firm must be proficient in the use of Auto Cad 2006 and have access to Microsoft Word 5.0 or higher. Estimated time of completion is 180 calendar days. Estimated cost of construction is $1,050,000. Area of consideration is restricted to within two-hundred fifty (250) miles of the Jack C Montgomery VA Medical Center, 1011 Honor Heights Drive, Muskogee, OK 74401. Those interested firms, which meet the small business size standard of Veteran Owned Small Business, within the area of consideration, shall submit three (3) copies of their current SF 330 to the attention of David L. Brown, Contract Specialist (90c), Jack C Montgomery VA Medical Center,1011 Honor Heights Drive, Muskogee, OK 74401. The NAICS code is 541310 with the Small Business size standard of $4.5 Million.
