- This is not a request for either a quote or proposal, or an invitation for bid. The intent of this pre-solicitation synopsis is to identify potential offerors for RM09-1390, Dry Dock 8 Caisson Replacement, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia.This contract will consist of fabricating a new Caisson of steel construction to fit the existing Caisson seat at Dry Dock 8, in accordance with applicable ABS standards, which include new seals, pumps, and valves, as well as providing new capstans. The on-board systems will include: mechanical systems (watering, dewatering, and ventilation) and electrical systems (water level alarms, pump controls, 480V, 240V, and 120V power, lighting, and communications). The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, engineering, materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies and transportation to perform all work described in the contract drawings and specifications. The drawings and specifications for this project are posted with the pre-solicitation synopsis for review and comments from interested parties. Item 0001, Base Price is the price for the entire work, complete in accordance with the requirements of the RFP including drawings and specifications. The completion time for this contract is 570 calendar days after award. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 237990 and the annual size standard is $33.5M. This procurement is unrestricted. The total estimated cost for this project is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or about 05 March 2010.
