Description
This announcement is being issued to incorporate a 12-month base year and two 12-month option periods to the previously issued Special Notice entitled Ocean Studies Board Support, provided in its entirety below, The following is the original announcement posted on January 14, 2010. The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Minerals Management Service (MMS), intends to issue sole source contract in the anticipated amount of $135,000 to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in support of the National Research Councils (NRC) Ocean Studies Board (OSB) core activities in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1: Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The period of performance will be through February, 2013, beginning upon date of award. The OSB assists Federal Government agencies to develop strong research programs and good practices that are responsive to both intellectual opportunities and national interests and suggest ways to use new knowledge to manage ocean resources wisely. The OSB is the focal point within the NRC for ocean-related science, engineering, and policy issues. The NRC serves as an independent adviser to the Federal Government on scientific and technical questions of national importance. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541690. This is NOT a request for competitive proposals. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. However, any and all information received by the point of contact (POC) listed below by close of business Friday, January 29, 2010, will be considered by the Government.
