Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this Sources Sought Notice to determine the interests and capabilities of Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Businesses (VOSB), and HUBZone Small Businesses, firms with regard to an upcoming acquisition for design/build services for the AMBULATORY PROCEDURE UNIT, NEW ORLEANS, LA. The firm should have an approved NAICS of 236220 with the size standard of $31,500,000 average annual gross revenue to be considered a small business. The following information is a brief description of the project, but is not all-inclusive. The objective of this project is to accomplish site preparations for comprehensive architectural and utility upgrade and renovation of an existing leased 16,000 square foot building and parking lot to house the Ambulatory Procedure Unit, Laboratory, and other support functions and six (6) mobile procedure trailers. The work will include upgrading and expanding existing space, constructing a new access corridor to dock the six trailers, as well as installing new mechanical, electrical, HVAC, medical gases, and other systems and providing connections for the trailers. Work includes, but is not limited to: general refurbishment of interior space and finishes, extension and/or relocation of all utilities with appropriate interconnections, HVAC, Plumbing (including domestic water and sewer), Mechanical, Electrical, Medical Gases, Telecommunications, Fire Protection Systems, and ADA requirements. The firm should provide a capability statement that displays the firm capabilities and experience in design/build. The capability statement should address corporate experience in (a) Design/Build Construction (healthcare/rehabilitation centers); (b) certification of eligibility (SDVOSB, VOSB, HUBZone); (c) a positive statement of your intention to submit a proposal as a prime contractor; (d) evidence of recent (within the past three years) and, relevant experience (work similar in type and scope) to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact with telephone numbers; and (e) evidence of bonding capability. Respondents are requested to submit a Capability Statement that exhibits clear and convincing evidence of your firm capabilities/experiences to perform the listed tasks. The capability statement is not to exceed 10 pages. The statement must provide a summary of relevant experience and knowledge that addresses the scope of the task. The firms having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought.This sources sought notice is for market research purposes in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. It does not constitute a solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. All interested parties will be required to respond to the resultant solicitation separately from their response to this sources sought. Please submit Capability Statements via email to: Thaddeus.Willoughby@va.gov. no later than March 12, 2010. At this time no solicitation exists, therefore, DO NOT REQUEST A SOLICITATION package.
