- Description
- Furnish flight services, fully contractor operated and maintained, under the direction and control of the Forest Service. The need consists of a single engine float equipped airplane. Airplanes currently in use consist of DeHavilland DHC-2 Beavers, DHC-3 Otters, Cessna 185 & 206 on both straight and amphibian floats. Offerors may propose a single aircraft type or combination of types. The Forest Service anticipates one base located in Ketchikan. Aircraft will be used in support of Tongass National Forest program requirements in Southeast Alaska. Program requirements include transportation of passengers to and from Forest Service bases, camps and field locations, wildlife surveys, wildlife tracking, fire reconnaissance, law enforcement reconnaissance, and search and rescue. Contractor will be required to be certificated under 14 CFR, Part 135, Air Taxi Operators & Commercial Operators for the category and class of aircraft required under the contract. The term of the contract will be one year with options to renew for two additional years. The solicitation will be available online at www.fedbizopps.gov approximately 15 days after the posting date of this notice. A pre-proposal conference will be conducted by phone on March 24, 2010 to address any questions potential bidders may have regarding the solicitation package and will start at 9:30 pm Alaska Standard Time by calling 907 586-9398
