Description
(U) Request for Information (RFI) on the Current State of Radar Data Processing Algorithms for the Tactical Radar Exploitation Toolkit (U) THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. (U) The Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) is seeking information on the current state of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI) sensor processing algorithms. (U) The current problem that plagues the analyst community is that individual sensor packages are being developed in conjunction with exploitation stations that are specific to the sensor. Algorithms developed for one sensor may be able to benefit another yet they are often not shared. This current sensor specific exploitation station design makes analyzing data across multiple sensors an unwieldy task. (U//FOUO) I2WD intends to acquire and/or develop the Tactical Radar Exploitation (TREX) Toolkit, a framework for a suite of automated sensor processing software, to aid in the exploitation of data from SAR and GMTI systems. The objective of the TREX Toolkit is to provide a plug and play interface to a multitude of radar data and exploitation algorithms. The algorithms will be implemented as interchangeable modules that can be swapped within the processing chain. The framework will provide a means to create adapters to allow data, generated by varying sensors, to be easy ingested for display in a common format. As part of this effort, I2WD will study TREX performance in order to determine whether results from a single algorithm are sufficient for the given task or if further information can be obtained by using a family of algorithms. (U//FOUO) Respondents are requested to provide a summary algorithms used to exploit SAR and/or GMTI data including, but not limited to: Image analysis Change detection Automatic feature detection Aided target detection, classification and/or recognition Tracking/Trackers (traffic patterns or human tracking) People and wildlife discrimination Pattern recognition (U//FOUO) Please consider providing some of the following information about the algorithm(s): Type of data used for ingestion, for example: raw, standardized, proprietary, etc. Type of output data generated Applicable frequency range (i.e. more applicable to low and/or high frequency systems) Required hardware or processing power needed Potential for standardizing input/output Potential for modularization Maturity (U) Finally, respondents should provide information regarding any underlying software technology, middleware, and/or framework architecture that the algorithm(s) utilizes, requires or is compatible with (i.e. Matlab, Labview, Java, JBOSS, JMS,.NET, etc&). (U) The government does not intend to pay for this information. Responses are to be received by 30 days from this post date or 18 March 2010. All information must be in writing or via e-mail. There is a 5MB email limit. You may forward responses to US Army, RDECOM, CERDEC, I2WD, Bldg. 600, Fort Monmouth, NJ, 07703, ATTN: RDER-IWR-RA (Mr. Lamanna) or the following e-mail address: peter.lamanna@us.army.mil. Acknowledgement of receipt will be issued. If you choose to submit proprietary information, mark it accordingly. Classified information will be accepted by mail only, but please mark it accordingly and send it via proper channels. Classified information can be sent to US Army, RDECOM, CERDEC, I2WD, Bldg. 600, Fort Monmouth, NJ, 07703, ATTN: Security Office. The inner wrapping shall be addressed to: ATTN: RDER-IWR-RA (Mr. Lamanna). Questions regarding this information request can be directed to Mr. Lamanna.
