- The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) has a requirement for fire-rated doors, frames, trim, and hardware at the John Adams Building (Library of Congress) as further identified and in accordance with the forthcoming solicitation documents and drawings. This project will be solicited as an Invitation For Bid (IFB) with the intent to award a Firm-Fixed-Price Supply contract. This is an unrestricted procurement (that is, full and open competition). The solicitation and related documents will be made available on or about March 3, 2010. The due date for receipt of bids will be April 1, 2010. The solicitation package will be available electronically at http://www.aoc.gov/business/procure opps.cfm on the date of issuance. HOWEVER, YOU MUST PROVIDE CONTACT INFORMATION IN THE FORMAT REQUESTED BELOW TO BE CONSIDERED FOR RECEIPT OF THE ASSOCIATED DRAWINGS; FOR SECURITY REASONS, DRAWINGS WILL NOT BE POSTED ON THE AOC WEBSITE. With exception to the drawings, the solicitation package will be issued via Internet only and will not be made available in hard copy format. Requests for copies of the drawings must be submitted in writing to Jeffrey Kuhl, Contract Specialist via e-mail at jkuhl@aoc.gov or FAX at (866) 489-4458. Requests must be on company letterhead containing company address, return email, telephone, FAX and a contact person and should reference the solicitation number. TELEPHONE REQUESTS FOR THE SOLICITATION AND ASSOCIATED DRAWINGS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Notification of amendments shall be made via internet only as well. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MONITOR THIS SITE AND THE AOC WEBSITE FOR ALL CHANGES. A site visit will be conducted at the John Adams Building, 101 Independence Avenue, SE, Washington, D.C. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10 A.M., local time. Attendance at the site visit is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. Those intending to participate shall meet at the address above and should notify Jeffrey Kuhl at jkuhl@aoc.gov with their intent to attend at least 3 days prior to the site visit. Information concerning the site visit may also be obtained by e-mailing jkuhl@aoc.gov. Questions will be considered at any time prior to or during the site visit; however bidders will be asked to confirm verbal questions in writing. Subsequent to the site visit, an amendment to the solicitation containing an abstract of the questions and answers, and a list of attendees, will be disseminated. Bidders are cautioned that, notwithstanding any remarks or clarifications given at any site visit, all terms and conditions of the solicitation remain unchanged unless they are changed by amendment to the solicitation. If the answers to site visit questions or any solicitation amendment create ambiguities, it is the responsibility of the bidder to seek clarification prior to submitting a bid.
