Description
This public announcement is to notify interested parties of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) intentions to procure construction services for the replacement of Substations 1, 3 and 6 in Building 300 and incidental related work located at the William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City International Airport, NJ 08405. The project will consist of, but is not limited to providing labor, materials, equipment and supervision for the installation of 3 new medium voltage substations in Building 300, a Power Management and Control/SCADA system, as well as providing some building renovations to accept new medium voltage switchgear lineups, which will also require interior electrical, plumbing, HVAC and architectural modifications. The estimated range for this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 with a performance time of approximately 540 calendar days. Construction start date is anticipated to be April 2010. Bid Bond shall be 20% of proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of contract price are required after notification of the award. The NAICS code for this effort is 221121. A Firm Fixed Price Contract is contemplated. A CD with the complete statement of work, specifications and drawings will be distributed at a mandatory site visit, which will take place on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 9:00AM EST. However, an 11 X 17 copy of the drawings will be available for the bidders to review at the walk-through. Security issues require companies to identify personnel whom will be attending the mandatory site visit. Parties interested in attending the site visit must submit a request in writing, via email, to the Contracting Specialist. The request must include the company name, a point of contact and telephone number. Submit this request to Donna.Guarrera@faa.gov no later than 2:00PM EST on Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Companies who do not attend the site visit will not be permitted to submit a proposal for this project. All proposals are due by Monday, March 15, 2010 2:00PM EST. All questions must be in writing, via email, and submitted by Monday, March 8, 2010 4:00PM EST.This announcement does not obligate the government in any way whatsoever to award or to initiate competition for award of the anticipated effort.
