Description
**CLARIFICATION (1/28/2010): Per Federal Acquisition Regulations 19.10, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, this acquisition for AE services is not restricted (set-aside) for any particular socioeconomic group or groups. Small business size standards go hand in hand with NAICS codes (see FAR 19.303). Not necessarily an indication of set-aside. Any size firm(s) may respond to this request for SF330's. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Iowa City, Iowa is seeking architect/engineering firms to provide all professional, technical, and investigative services to prepare working drawings and specifications, cost estimates, and construction period services for a 400 car parking garage with future expansion capabilities to 800 cars, and complete with skywalks connecting to the existing Iowa City VA Medical Center. Design must account for routing of service trucks and semi trucks from the existing main entrance off Hwy 6 to the medical center loading dock. Project number 636-402. The AE firm must be approved under NAICS Code 541310 Architectural Services, small business size standard of $4.5 million. Investigative services performed under this contract will include evaluation for asbestos, subsurface investigation for structural capacity, and verification of as-built locations and conditions of all affected architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural components. Following investigation, the A/E shall develop construction drawings and specifications that shall include, but not be limited to site development (to include traffic and parking geometrics), demolition, architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical and plumbing work (with reviews), reproduction of bid documents; construction period services; final inspections and as-built drawings. In performance of this work the A/E shall engage the services of a fire protection engineer and a Certified Industrial Hygienist. AE expected to employ the services of a fire protection engineer and an industrial hygienist. The prime contractor should have experience designing and producing construction documents for parking ramps/garages of similar capacity and complexity. Construction cost range is: $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Applicants must have an established working office within a 250 mile radius of Iowa City, be of sufficient size and experience to accomplish the work, and be licensed in the State of Iowa. Firms desiring consideration must submit their qualifications and past performance on SF 330 (Architect Engineer Qualifications), and for any consultants, on SF 330 extra sections E & F no later than February 8, 2010.
