- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for:-Qty:1 Hypersizer Pro Fully Paid-up Server License.-Qty:1 MSU for Hypersizer Pro Fully Paid-up Server License-1 yr. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Collier Research Corporation pursuant to FAR13.106 for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonsably availableform only one source. It is our understanding that Collier is the only vendor which canperform automated composite laminate optimization and has automated analysis that iteratecomposite laminated designs and select optimized design solutions. This optimizationsoftware is available for immediate project use, and has been demonstrated on recent NASAcomposite projects. Any other composite optimization software would require developmentand/or validations resulting in significant cost and schedule impacts to the ACT project.Because Hypersizer is proprietary to Collier Research, they are the only vendor forHypersizer optimizations software.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.This document should not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will theGovernment pay for the information solicited.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon February 12, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
