- RECOVERY - This project consists of repairs to three (3) cable suspensions bridges in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. Work includes removal and replacement of decks, approach span decks, running planks, needle beams, top and bottom chords as well as the truss-lattice. The work also includes the adjustment of the bridge camber using the cable hangers as the adjusting feature. Black Bear Bridge will have the running planks removed, replaced and the cambe adjusted. Salmon Forks Trail Bridge shall have only the running planks removed and replaced. Big Prairie Trail Bridge shall have the deck on the main span as well as the two (2) approach spans removed and replaced. The running planks shall also be removed and replaced. The top and bottom chords along with the truss-lattice will be removed and replaced. Five of the needle beams shall be removed, replaced and have the the camber adjusted. THIS PROJECT IS LOCATED IN A GRIZZLY BEAR HABITAT. This project is located on the Spotted Bear Ranger District within the Bob Marshall Wilderness area and ranges in elevation from 4,200 feet to 4,700 feet. The most direct route to the project is: From Martin City, Montana, follow the East Side Reservoir Road No. 38 approximately 53 miles southeast to the junction West Side Reservoir Road No. 895 Road. Travel west on Road No. 895 approximately 1.5 miles to the junction with Road No. 2826 the Meadow Creek Road. Travel south on the Meadow Creek Road approximately 15 miles to the Meadow Crek Gorge Trailhead. From this point you will be entering the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex and motorized/mechanized equipment is prohibiited. Hiking or stock use is the only available method in this complex. Travel south on Trail No. 80 ot the junction with Trail No. 263. Travel west on Trail No. 263 approximately 1.5 miles tot eh Black Bear Bridge. Continue to travel south on Trail No. 263 approximately 7 miles to the Salmon Forks Trail Bridge. At this point you can travel south on Trail No. 263 approximately 11 miles to the Big Prairie Trail Bridge. An alternative is to cross the South Fork of the Flathead River using Trail No. 263 and access Trail No. 80 to travel to the Big Prairie Bridge. Price Range: Between $25,000 and $100,000 There is not a pre-bid conference schedule for this effort. Questions on this project must be submitted, in writing, via email to the Contracting Specialist who will collect and refer them to the Technical contact for a response. Questions and Answers will be posted to FBO under the solication 10 days prior to due date for receipt of proposals/quotations/bids. No further questions will be taken from that point on. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Government. In accordance with FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR on part of the offeror will render an offeror ineligible for award.
