- Description: The National Park Service, Yukon Gates of the Arctic National Park, Alaska, is conducting a MARKET SURVEY to determine the interest and capability of any Small-Business (to include HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, Women Owned Small Business) using NAICS Code 323110 for an upcoming requirement to supply and deliver the following: Design, print and mount a 2 dimensional shaded relief map of the Brooks Range in Alaska extending far enough south to incorporate Kanuti National Wildlife Refuge. The map must include public lands boundaries (color coded by agency), elevations, significant cultural and geographic place names, continental divides, and topographic features such as rivers, lakes, etc. The map will be 12 feet wide. The height of the map will be dictated by the contents and the best mounting option. This map will be the first thing visitors see upon entering the building and the main feature of our exhibits. It must be of the highest quality and clarity: all text must be easily legible; colors must be attractive and bright. The shaded relief rendition needs to clearly show the topographic landscape and elevation changes through the use of color. The map needs to be easily shippable to a remote community in Alaska and the installation process needs to be easy enough for park maintenance staff to install it with instructions from the contractor. The Contractor will provide:Printed Map on a backing such as gator board. (12 feet wide, height to be determined by content and mounting options.)Installation: Mounting fixtures and Installation InstructionsDigital map file and rights to said file.Shipping and handling to Bettles, AlaskaThose who bid on this project need to include 3 samples of their work and three references who can speak to the definition and quality of large maps they have produced. The selection will be based on technical and artistic qualities.The successful contractor will work with Park and Preserve staff to design and develop the map that will best serve visitors. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. ALL COST ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION AS REQUESTED BY THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. Submission is voluntary. The National Park Service shall issue the actual solicitation on or about February 12, 2010 using Solicitation number Q9840100061. Responses to this announcement are requested from any firm eligible to compete in full and open competition. Request interested firms (regardless of size) submit (1) NAME, ADDRESS, and PHONE NUMBER of the firm (including DUNS NUMBER). All responses must be submitted via email NLT February 12, 2010 @ 4:00 pm EST to the following email address: deryl_morse@nps.gov or fax 907-644-3802. This is NOT a request for proposal and does not constitute any commitment by the Government. Responses to this sources sought notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. All interested sources must respond to future solicitation announcements separately from responses to this market survey.
