- Description
- RAY BEHRENS J&A This action is necessitated to provide year round fire flow capacity for the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center currently under construction. It is necessary to modify the Ray Behrens Elevated Tank in order to overcome the low water usage typically experienced throughout the cooler months. During these cooler conditions, the water becomes stagnant, loses chlorine residual, and becomes susceptible to freezing, resulting in water unsafe for consumption, and ice build up potentially damaging to the tank. To avoid theses circumstances the Water District removes the tank from service throughout the cooler months. In order to overcome the issue of low water usage with seasonal outages, t he Ray Behrens Elevated Tank must be modified to provide year round flow capacity. Contract is for construction of a part of a utility system and the utility company itself is the only source capable to work on the system.
