Description
The following information was provided by ATSC for help with providing a cost estimate: 1. The average weight of an outbound box is between 30 -35 lbs. per full box. Some are partials, which would be put in smaller boxes. 2. The number of different materials (SKUs) the average outbound box contains are typically 1 item per box. Usually first or last box is where we even out the number requested if it does not require an even number of boxes. In shipping more than 1 product per order, 1st or last would be the mixed box with more than 1 item in it. 3. The average daily volume of outbound metered mail fluctuates according to how much is going mail as opposed to fed-x/u.p.s. and how much is going overseas. Last month, through a meter we averaged approximately 70 pieces per day. 4. The average total number of individual items (SKUs) that are stored and shipped from the warehouse at a given time is between 1500 and 1600 items stored, with the large majority of that being actively shipped. 5. The cost of shipping and mailing of training materials is incurred by the government i.e. charged to a government account. 6. The number of boxes per year of 25,000 is indicated in the solicitation. The volume of inserting revised or new instruction material into packages would be approximately 1/3 of those products. Only a couple of products have revised or new instruction materials that we insert into the packages. 7. Vendor will provide racking/storage containers. 8. The incumbent is Wright Engineering, currently performing the work on post. There are 8 contractors currently working. 9. A site visit is not in the current plans. We are just trying to gather data. Any decisions on whether this work will be moved off-site or not have not been made. 10. The government provided inventory software is IDMS (internal inventory software). Requisitions and shipping requests are transmitted electronically to the warehouse/contractor.
