Description
The T. S. State of Maine is a U.S. Government owned training ship provided by the U. S. Maritime Administration to the Maine Maritime Academy for the purpose of training young men and women for a career in the U.S. Maritime Industry. 1. Construct Forward Auxiliary Machinery Space & Forward MSD System: Convert an existing storeroom into an auxiliary machinery room and install a forward marine sanitation system to service the black water drains of the forward house. Only the marine sanitation device (tank, effluent pump and controller) is government furnished. 2. Construct Aft MSD Sewage Transfer System: Construct and install a sewage transfer tank for the aft MSD system. Construct and install all associated piping and controls to permit cross over service between forward and aft MSD systems. 3. Construct Salt Water Cross Over System: Install valves and piping to permit cross over service between main and auxiliary salt water cooling systems. 4. Modify Main Engine Platform: Modify the existing platform around the main engine to permit loading of various engine parts during overhaul and installation of a 60 ton per day reverse osmosis unit. 5. Construct Reverse Osmosis Watermaker System: Install a 60 ton per day reverse osmosis unit on the modified platform around the main engine to include a foundation, interconnecting piping and electrical feeds. Only the reverse osmosis unit is government furnished. All work shall be in accordance with the requirements of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). NOTE: 1: THIS SOURCES SOUGHT REPLACES DTMA2Q-10XXX. NOTE: 2: THE RFP WILL BE ISSUED ON/ABOUT 2 FEB 2010.Work shall begin as soon as possible after award with completion prior to Apr 1, 2010.
