- USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service is announcing a project under the Emergency Watershed Protection Program for Jasper and Newton Counties, Texas. The work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to restore county roads and streambanks as a result of damage caused by Hurricane Ike. Stabilization of county road stream crossings will be by: constructing timber headwalls, installing sand-cement bag riprap and placing rock riprap armor along road banks and stream banks. There is one site in Newton County for debris removal and disposal. The work must be completed in accordance with the specifications and drawings. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be posted o/a February 5, 2010. Price Range: $250,000 to $500,000 Site Showing information to be posted later.
