- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to procure 140 parking spaces for extramural NIDDK employees, 16 spaces for intramural NIDDK employees and an additional 14 spaces for possible future growth totaling 170 spaces. The purpose of this acquisition is for the procurement of parking spaces for NIDDK employees. The objective is to provide parking spaces in the two parking facility garages attached to the Two Democracy Plaza building. These parking spaces are for those that exceed the allotted number of parking spaces provided by the lease from Parking Management, 1725 Desales Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20036. Charles E. Smith/Vornado competed the facilitating of the parking garages attached to 6701 and 6707 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda, Maryland with Parking Management Inc. winning the bid. As such, Parking Management, Inc is the only authorized vendor of this site. This action is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(1), as set forth on FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306-302-1. Only one responsible source and no other will satisfy agency requirements. This will be Base + 1 option Year. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received with the 7 days after the publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
