This action is being procured as part of the American Recovery and Re-Investment Act (ARRA) of 2009. All questions regarding this SYNOPSIS should be submitted in writing to the following E-Mail address: Nathan.R.Kloeckler@usace.army.mil. This Acquisition shall be competed as full and open competition. This synopsis is for the purpose of a pre-solicitation notification only. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District intends to issue a solicitation to purchase Tainter Gate Wire Rope in various Locations in Oklahoma. The following requirements are minimum specifications, additional information may be necessary to purchase Tainter Gate Wire Rope for Various Locations in Oklahoma. The purpose of this synopsis is to inform potential contractors for a future acquisition of Tainter Gate Wire Rope at various locations in Oklahoma. This is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations. It is anticipated that the following services will be required: The Contractor shall furnish and deliver wire rope, complete with terminations (sockets) at both ends, to the locations indicated in the specifications. The wire rope is for installation in the operating equipment for tainter gates. The wire rope shall be manufactured, prepared for delivery, and delivered in accordance with the requirements of Corps of Engineers specifications. Installation will be by a separate contract. The Contractor shall verify lengths of wire ropes and required end terminations prior to assembly. The wire rope shall be of the following type: a. Strand configuration: As indicated on the attached schedule b. Lay: As indicated on the attached schedule c. Diameter: As indicated on the attached schedule, with a tolerance of - 0 and plus 5 percent d. Finish: Not Galvanized e. Material: Stainless Steel f. Core type: Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) g. Pre-formed: Yes The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this program is 332618, and the Classification Code of RECOVERY40. The Government will award a contract resulting from the subsequent solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government. This solicitation will be issued via Internet only on FedBizOpps Website at www.fbo.gov. Notification of amendments shall be made via FedBizOpps only. It is the contractors responsibility to check the below-listed Internet address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation. No corrections and/or changes to proposals will be allowed after the proposal submittal due time and date. Estimated solicitation issue date is on or about the estimated date of January 29, 2010. Quotations are anticipated to be due on or about February 17, 2010. Contractors must be registered and current with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and must have their online representations and certifications (ORCA) completed in order to receive a Government contract award.
