- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Controlled burn of 5,312 acres. Burns are conducted to improve training utilization and benefit the endangered American Burying Beetle. (Nicrophorus Americanus) All fire crew members shall be Red card certified by the National Wildfire Control Group. A minimum of four (4) crew members shall be RxB2 Burn Boss certified, Smoke Management certified. A minimum response time of two (2) hours to the FCMTC is required. Equipment minimum is four (4) brush trucks (300 gallon capacity) and six(6) ATV/UTV's. An intimate knowledge of the ecological diversity at the FCMTC, including, but not limited to the American Burying Beetle is required. A minimum of five (5) years experience in prescribed burns in all fuel models, particuarly timber/grass and tall grass fuel models. References of this experience must be provided. Must have the ability to develop detailed burn plans including smoke management guideline, burn unit description and goals, fuel and weather prescriptions,official notifications, and emergency assistance sources. Provide updates for the prescribed fire management database including GIS data layers. A post burn evaluation report shall be submitted describing each burn unit including the acres burned, percent coverage, overall intensity, fuel hazard reduction and assessment of control on non-native species controlled. Prescribed burns to commence 30 January, 2010 and be completed NLT 1 April 2010. Forward credentials for consideration.
