Description
This RFI/sources sought announcement is not a request for proposals and SAIC-Frederick is not committed to award a contract pursant to this announcement. The information from this market research is for planning purposes only and will assist SAIC-Frederick in planning its acquistion strategy. SAIC-Frederick will not pay for any cost incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this RFI. SAIC-Frederick is seeking sources for an Off the Shelf, WEB based IT ASSET MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE to meet the following specifications below: Administrative Console (General) • Should support single (unified) management console for all client platforms. • Should have web-based interface as either primary or optional interface. • Should allow role and group-based management of assets. • Should support integration with Helpdesk and NAC (Network Access Control) systems. Reporting (General) • Must be able to export data/reports (to SQL, Excel, CSV, etc.) • Should report across all functions; should allow combining of data from various functions (inventory and compliance, for example). • Should support ad hoc querying / reports. • Should allow publication of reports via Web and/or Web Service. • Should support industry standards - ITIL, CMDB. Asset Discovery and Inventory. Must support identification and inventory of: • Computer Hardware • Windows OS and software - WindowsXP and newer. • Macintosh OS and software - MacOSX (Leopard) and newer. • Peripherals (Printers, etc.) Should support identification and inventory of: • Linux OS and software (common distributions - RedHat, SUSE, Ubuntu, etc.) • Other Unix OS and software (for example, HP-Ux). • Handheld Devices (PDA, Blackberry, iPhone). Should support reporting of application usage and license information (how often application is used, registered license key) Configuration Compliance • Must support defining a configuration standard for supported platforms (for example, WindowsXP FDCC settings). • Must support scanning and/or monitoring of supported platforms for compliance with defined configuration standard. • Must support definition of unauthorized applications. • Should support multiple configuration definitions per supported platform. • Should support quarantine for systems not in compliance. • Should support remediation of clients not in compliance. Software Distribution/Delivery and Provisioning • Must support distribution of operating system patches to clients. • Must support distribution of applications and patches to clients. • Must allow patches to occur to external network clients (i.e., without a VPN connection). • Should be configurable for delivery of software to individual client, select group, or mass distribution. • Should allow for "checkpoint" and "rollback" of changes. • Should allow for delivery to be throttled (matched to system and network capacity available). • Should allow for users to initiate software delivery. • Should support scripted and "cold metal" installation. • Should support disk imaging and endpoint virtualization. Service Desk • Must allow for remote control of client systems. • Must allow for user privilege escalation for supported clients operating systems. • Should support encryption for remote control sessions. • Software must be able to manage 5500 or more machines and 2900 or more users. The contractors response shall include specific and relevant information related to the requirements of this project that will enabe SAIC-Frederick to determine the capabilities of the company to perform this requirement. This notice is a RFI and is for information and planning purposes only and does not commit SAIC-Frederick to any contractural agreement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. SAIC-Frederick will not award a purchase order or contract based upon vendor responses to this announcment. SAIC-Frederick shall not assume any cost for preparing or submitting and information in response to the RFI.
