- The Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service is planning a sole-source purchase order with the American Indian Health Management and Policy, Inc. (AIHMP). The AIHMP is a 100% American Indian owned healthcare consulting firm. AIHMP was created in 2004 with the purpose of providing a full range of healthcare consulting services to Indian Health Service, tribal health programs and urban Indian programs. The principals of AIHMP have a diverse background including private sector experience, Indian Health Service, tribal and urban Indian health program experience. The Office of the Area Director is responsible to ensure the Indian Health Hospital located on the Rosebud reservation is providing the services required by the government and utilizing the federal appropriations in accordance to regulations which govern the Indian Health Service. To comply with these requirements, the Area Office would have to increase staff and expenditures to accommodate the increased workload. The most cost effective and efficient alternative is to contract with the AIHMP. Therefore, this is an urgent and compelling need that potentially could result in unacceptable delays to fulfilling the agency's requirements if not satisfied as such. This announcement is a sole-source set-aside, pursuant to FAR 6.302-2.
