Description
In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the 'Act'), Public Law 111-5, this notice is provided for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), intends to solicit competition and issue a task order under the established Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract number 98210AD00X awarded to Perini Management Services, Framingham, MA; MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Kennesaw, GA; and BlueScope Construction, Kansas City, MO. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THESE INCUMBENT CONTRACTORS. The original IDIQ contract awards were made on a competitive basis. The task order to be competed and issued against the aforementioned contracts is for the following construction requirement: UPGRADE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM AND INSTALL FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AT THE TUNISON LABORATORY OF AQUATIC SCIENCE IN CORTLAND, NY (DM0004B AND DM0012). The project will include installing a fire suppression system in two buildings totaling 14,330 SF that is tied into an existing fire suppression system. The installed system will consist of a wet pipe antifreeze type sprinkler system for all areas of the buildings. The project will also include installation of a new fire alarm system with manual and automatic alarm initiation, audible and visual notification, and duct smoke detection. The new alarm system will integrate all three buildings at the site. The task order is anticipated to be awarded no later than 31 Mar 10 with a 230-day construction period of performance. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be provided to the IDIQ contractors on or about 5 Feb 10. Full or partial funding for the requirements to be completed by the contractor will utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements, is required. (ATN's DM0004B, DM0012)
