Description

In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the 'Act'), Public Law 111-5, this notice is provided for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), intends to solicit competition and issue a task order under the established Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract number 98210AD00X awarded to Perini Management Services, Framingham, MA; MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Kennesaw, GA; and BlueScope Construction, Kansas City, MO. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THESE INCUMBENT CONTRACTORS. The original IDIQ contract awards were made on a competitive basis. The task order to be competed and issued against the aforementioned contracts is for the following construction requirement: UPGRADE FIRE ALARM AND NOTIFICATION SYSTEM IN TIGHT ISOLATION BUILDING (DM0013B) AND INSTALL FIRE SUPPRESSION AND NOTIFICATION SYSTEM IN GARAGE (DM0052) AT NATIONAL WILDLIFE HEALTH CENTER, MADISON, WI. The project in the Tight Isolation Building will include interlocking with an existing system, networking with systems in two separate buildings, replacement of existing annunciator panel, and installing fully addressable system with continuous monitoring. The project in the Garage will include installing notification components of horns, strobes, and call out to security system. A bid alternate item to network the system in the Garage with the other buildings via trenching and fiber optics will also be included. The task order is anticipated to be awarded no later than 31 Mar 10. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be provided to the IDIQ contractors on or about 5 Feb 10. Full or partial funding for the requirements to be completed by the contractor will utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements, is required. (ATN's DM00013B, DM0052)
