- The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract to replace the wire ropes on the Hills Creek Dam Spillway Tainter Gates. The replacement of the wire ropes includes replacement of the wear plates, replacement of the wire ropes, replacement of the gate connection components, removal of and reinstallation of the drums, and rope tensioning. The work shall take place between Aug-Sept. of 2010. This work will be done utilizing the US Small Business Administration's 8a Business Development Program by Big J Construction Inc. (DUNS 045651739) of Medford, Oregon. The magnitude of this contract is estimated to be between $250k and $500k.
