- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requires assistance in helping DARPA evaluate the performance of the speech encoding systems being developed under the ASE program in fulfilling the role of the Independent Evaluation Team (IET) for the Translation System for Tactical Use (TRANSTAC) program. Specifically, the Contractor shall assist NIST in its IET role for the TRANSTAC program by enhancing the TRANSTAC systems with representative speech data and deploying these systems overseas (in Iraq and Afghanistan) with soldiers that are getting ready to be deployed. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and materials to complete the required tasks. The specific tasks pursuant to this effort are described in the Performance Work Statement included in Solicitation Number SB1341-10-RQ-0093. It is anticipated that the solicitation for this procurement will be issued on or about January 13, 2010 under FAR Part 12. The Government anticipates an award of a Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order as a result of the solicitation. The competitive solicitation, all amendments, and any questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will only be available via the internet at the above website. Potential Offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. There is no printed solicitation document available. NIST will not maintain a bidder's list. Telephone requests will not be honored; all questions must be submitted in writing via e-mail to jennifer.lohmeier@nist.gov. To be eligible for award, Offerors MUST be currently registered with the Central Contractor Registration at www.ccr.gov and have completed its representations and certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541519 and the size standard is $25 Million.
