- Description
- The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), has a requirement for a two story structure Duplex #3 containing approximately 3200 square feet gross living area and shall match Duplex #2 which is the newest constructed. Floor plans are provided for reference only and the contractor shall provide a complete set of drawings for review and approval, structure may be "stick built" or modular in construction. Each half of the duplex residence shall include three bedrooms, two full baths, laundry/utility room, kitchen, dining room and living room. One half of the duplex shall have accessible accommodations, to include providing wheel chair access ramp and shall conform to all ADA requirements, to include but not limited to; clearances, heights and placement of fixtures in rest room and kitchen. Site work shall include grading of the site as needed to drain away from the residence and placement of topsoil with grass seeding on new work and disturbed areas as well as parking for six vehicles to consist of CR-6 with heavy fines compacted to 4" depth. Utility work shall include connecting the entire duplex #3 residence to existing PEPCO-ready ground-mounted electrical transformer vault and providing separate electric meters for each half of the duplex (meters to be same as on existing Duplex #2), telephone, and cable television service and existing underground sanitary sewer system and existing underground domestic water system adjacent to the building site. All utilities will be independently metered for each half of the duplex residence with the exception of the sanitary sewage. The sanitary sewage does not need to be metered. Located at U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Patuxent Wildlife Center, Laurel, Maryland. The Government anticipates award of a non-commercial, Firm Fixed Price type contract. The procurement is anticipated to include a period of performance of date of award through August 31, 2010. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about 01/20/2010. The offeror is responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). A formal solicitation, statement of work, and technical exhibits are not available for release at this time.This requirement is being issued under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. The Magnitude of Construction: $500,000 - $1,000,000.00. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236115 and the size standard is 33.5 million. There is not an incumbent contractor. Full or partial funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award(s) may utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful offeror(s), will be required in any resultant contract.All questions and concerns may be submitted to the Contracting Officer via email at abenton@usgs.gov.
