- RECOVERY THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THE NASA DRYDENFLIGHT RESEARCH CENTER (DFRC) HAS BEEN AUTHORIZED UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERY ANDREINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 TO ISSUE A TASK ORDER TO THE NORTHROP GRUMMAN CORPORATION (NGC)UNDER CONTRACT NND08GH01B FOR GLOBAL HAWK ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT.DFRC intends to issue Task Order NND09GH21T titled: Pod Attachment Assembly for Integration of the UAVSAR PODS onto the NASA Global Hawk. Task Order NND09GH21T is fortwo Pod Attachment Assemblies for integration of the Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle SyntheticAperture Radar (UAVSAR) Pods. NASA DFRC is implementing the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL)and DFRC developed UAVSAR Pod for use on the NASA Global Hawk aircraft. This effort shallutilize government furnished UAVSAR instruments that will be attached to new PodAttachment Assembly and installed on each wing of the aircraft. This Task covers thedesign and fabrication of two Pod Attachment Assemblies for integration of the UAVSARPods and the related engineering analysis, modification of the aircraft, and othergeneral integration-related support.This task order is wholly funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)of 2009 and as such is subject to all requirements imposed by the legislation. Theserequirements are mandatory and are subject to monitoring and auditing by the Governmentthroughout the contract performance period. A contract modification has been issued toadd American Recovery and Reinvestment ActReporting Requirements to the contract. The Global Hawk Engineering and Technical Support Contract NND08GH01B was awarded on anon-competitive basis. NGC is the only source available that has the engineering andtechnical expertise and knowledge in manufacturing, designing, and operating the GlobalHawk aircraft.As the manufacturer of the Global Hawk, NGC is the proprietary owner ofall the intellectual property for the Global Hawk and is uniquely familiar with theaircraft based on over 30,000 flight hours of experience. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.This announcement will not result in a request for proposal; this announcement is forinformational purposes only.
