Description
NAICS Code: 334513 AMENDMENT I to RFQ-OH-10-00037 (originally posted 12/30/2009) This amendment responds to questions under this RFQ. All questions received and corresponding answers can be found below. PLEASE NOTE: No further technical questions will be accepted as of the date of issuance for this amendment. ALSO, please acknowledge receipt of this amendment 1 in your submitted quote. If you've already submitted a quote, you are not required to resubmit another quote, although you may if you choose to do so; regardless, you must acknowledge receipt of this amendment. Finally, the due date for submission of quotes and all other terms not addressed in this amendment remain unchanged. Question 1: In Attachment A there is no mention of the sample delivery system. For this type of instrument to function correctly and in accordance with your requirements, the gas sample must be delivered at a temperature above the dewpoints of the gases of interest, filtered for particulates, and at a certain pressure and flow rate. I am assuming (but would like to confirm) that there is an existing sample system delivering a sample; can you please describe this? If there is no such system in place, we can supply a sample pump, filters and heated lines. Please comment. Answer 1 - The probes, filters, and heated sample lines are provided by EPA. All pumps, regulators, etc., related to "pressure and flow rate" requirements are to be included in the quote. Questions 2: The instruments are rack mount types-is there an existing rack into which the instruments will be mounted? We can supply a wall mount package if required. Please provide details of how the instruments will be mounted (do you need us to supply rails for rack mounting?)? Answer 2 - EPA will be solely responsible for mounting the analyzers. Vendors may quote either rack-mount or bench-top units. Question 3: What are the ambient conditions where the instruments will be used? Answer 3 - The units will always be used indoors under controlled-humidity conditions. Ambient temperatures, however, may range from 50?F to 100?F, depending on heating and cooling loads (i.e., some research spaces have un-insulated overhead doors; these and other spaces may also have furnaces and other equipment adding heat to the space). Question 4: Please clarify the specification: THC measurements are to use FID but then also requesting Chromatographic methane/NMHC measurements. Answer 4 - Yes we do specifically need chromatographic methane/NMHC measurements. Question 5: Our analyzer uses heated internal components but not an oven. What is the dew point of the sample from your combustion process. Answer 5 - EPA requires an oven-heated analyzer. Our maximum water dew point will be on the order of 128?F, but the dew point of condensable organics will be much higher. Question 6: Does the RFQ include heated probes and sample lines? Answer 6 - Heated probes and sample lines are not being included in this RFQ Question 7: What is the distance from sample source to the analyzer? Answer 7 - Distance between the probe and analyzer will vary between ~80 feet and ~30 feet, but the resulting response delays need not be included in reporting analyzer response times.
