- The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking qualified Architecture and Engineering firms to provide design and construction services for the renovation of the HVAC, domestic water and electrical systems in Buildings 1B, 1C, 1D and 1E, the demolition of Building 1A, and the construction of two new dormitories and a new Welcome Center at the Detroit Job Corps Center. The work required also includes provisions for environmental abatement, structural modifications and site improvements in the form of connection of a new sanitary, gas and electrical utility lines. In addition to design services, the work shall also include construction document preparation, document reproduction and contract administration services. We are looking for those firms that qualify under the Small Business Programs mentioned in the Subpart 19 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. When submitting your response, please indicate under which program you meet the criteria. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT for planning purposes only. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS EXIST. Market research is being conducted to determine if there are small businesses with the capabilities to perform this required work. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 541310, and the Small Business Size Standard is $4.5 million. All interested parties are invited to submit a capabilities statement to Ms. Eileen Garnett, Contract Specialist, U.S. Department of Labor, OASAM, BOC, OPS, Division of Job Corps A&E and Construction, 200 Constitution Avenue, NW, Room N4308, Washington, DC 2010. Your response shall include examples of at least three project performed that are comparable to the scope of work described above.
