- SYNOPSIS: This synopsis is not a request for quotes or proposals. This is a pre-solicitation notice that a solicitation is scheduled to be released via FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) in the near future detailing the requirement. The specific PIT tags brand names for this Columbia River Basin requirement are 12 mm long by 2.1 mm in diameter, TX1411SST and 8.5 mm long by 2.12 mm in diameter for TXP1485B. Estimated Quantity Delivery by each year schedule: Small PITS (8.5mm) Large PITS (12mm) Base Year 200,000 2,600,000 Option Year 1 100,000 2,030,000 The supplier must be able to produce and provide large quantities of PIT tags in a short time frame in order to meet delivery dates driven by the timing of out-migrating juvenile salmonids and research activities. PIT tag delivery requirements of up to 500,000 large PIT tags or 50,000 small PIT tags within two weeks have been required. A delay in PIT tag delivery could delay research a full year with the loss of millions of dollars to the Government. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
